Kia’s communications team shook off rivals to take the Southern Group of Motoring Writers’ prestigious Best PR Office 2019 award for the second year running – can they pull off a hat trick next year?
The trophy is one of just seven up for grabs in the SGMW’s New Year Honours List and is awarded to the PR operation consistently delivering the best all-round or forward-thinking service to SGMW members throughout the year.
The Group’s chairman Ian Robertson, who presented the trophy to Kia Communications Director Steve Kitson and his team at the Geneva motor show, said: “That phrase ‘throughout the year’ says it all: Kia just keeps on delivering the best and most consistent service to enable our members to do their jobs.
“And not just this year. We are only in the second year of our awards, yet Steve Kitson and his team have polled most members’ votes twice now for the same title. Can they do the treble at our 2020 awards? The nine months in between are going to be interesting.”
Receiving the trophy at Geneva, Steve Kitson, responded with: “A big thank you to everyone at the SGMW. It means so much to us all, especially as it is the second year that we have won the award.”
The other six SGMW New Year Honours List 2019 award winners were:
